Holding up our end
Because our house was occupied by a film crew today, I didn't make it over to the park. (For the whole exciting story on CrazyStable, go here.) However, I finally decided to enroll us in the Prospect Park Alliance, the group that has been instrumental in saving so many of the park's treasures from oblivion. Maybe it was looking at this shot of the Lullwater Bridge yesterday and imagining the upkeep involved, but I had begun to feel like a freeloader visiting every day without kicking in. Flush with a check from NBC for our shoot, I went for "Supporter" at $100; I'm not terribly excited by the promised water-bottle and picnic-blanket swag, but am tickled that we can now get unlimited free carousel rides. (Perhaps food and water could be brought to me on the Carousel to avoid interruption.) There are also tours for members only (you will receive a full report). Membership starts at $25 and confers self-satisfied nobility and a tax deduction; what are you waiting for?
